City Compost Bins

There will be compost bins for grass and leaves ONLY! By the burn pile (outside of the fence).

PLEASE do not put branches, bags OR dump outside of bins. If bin is full please call the city to have it dumped. THANK YOU

City Burn Pile

THE BURN PILE is for Mapleton residents ONLY!

ONLY dry-burnable wood is accepted (please remove all nails, handles, springs, hinges, glass, plastic, etc.) that is attached.

Contact the City Offices for access to the Burn Pile: 282-6992.

Please help keep the burn pile open by reporting abusers, call the city office at 282-6992 to report the license number & description of the vehicle(s). Your information will not be disclosed.

Forestry

Please refrain from planting any Ash trees, the city has more than is recommended by the ND Forestry Service. The Emerald Ash Borer is also being found in trees in ND. This insect will kill any trees it infests. Recommended trees and planting instructions are attached.

The Arboretum located along the Maple River has a wide variety of trees and shrubs with applicable information on a kiosk soon to be installed on the vacant concrete pad across from the community center. Also included on the kiosk will be historical data for the City of Mapleton.

Trees are an integral part of the Community Forestry Program in that funds raised help to care for and plant additional trees. Many new trees have been planted in the last few years so the selection is good.

Mapleton Parks & REcreation

The Mapleton Parks and Recreation Board shall permanently preserve, protect, maintain, improve and enhance its natural resources, parkland, and recreational opportunities for current and future generations.

The Mapleton Parks and Recreation Board exists to provide places and recreation opportunities for all people to gather, celebrate, contemplate and engage in activities to promote health, well- being, community and the environment.

PLEASE report any abuse or destruction to any park equipment, facility, land, etc.
